After a lot of careful thought and research, especially by Sarah, she and Brian have opted for the Maldives as their honeymoon destination. They will be flying direct from Gatwick to the Islands' capital city, Male. They will then be transferred by speed boat to their chosen island, where they will enjoy 14 nights soaking up the sunshine in a beautiful villa with views out to the Indian Ocean, and using all of the resort's extensive facilities, including watersports, tennis, massage etc.
After their dream honeymoon comes to an end on the island, it will be back by speed boat to Male for the flight home - hopefully armed with lots of photos to share with their family and friends.
The Maldives are just one of the many destinations that we recommend to honeymooners. The 1000 or so islands – or atolls - vary in size from ones that are less than 50ms from one side to another and which take a few minutes to explore to the larger islands which can take a couple of hours to walk around.
The Capital City is Male, approximately 13 hours flying time from London. Only 120 of the atolls are “inhabited” – mostly by individual hotel complexes -, although there are still a small number of outlying islands which have their own little fishing villages.
There is a great choice of hotels from the super-exclusive with 20 – 30 rooms and price tags to match, to the larger properties with up to 200 rooms. However, as these are often spread along a beautiful beach or hidden away amongst the palm-trees, they still give their guests a wonderful feeling of peace and seclusion . The atmosphere of the hotels is overwhelmingly informal – “dressing for dinner” often means nothing more than deciding whether to wear flip-flops or not !
They benefit from a great year-round climate which, when combined with the beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear sea makes them an irresistible destination, especially for honeymooners, and anyone looking for the perfect place for complete rest and relaxation.
If you would like to make a contribution to the costs of their travel arrangements in place of a wedding present, then please download the contribution form below and sent it to us at the address at the very bottom of this page, together with your cheque or credit/debit card authorisation.
Unlike many other wedding list systems, Brian and Sarah will benefit from the full value of whatever you would like to donate towards the cost of their trip.
