Coast to coast - Ian and Jess are heading off on a honeymoon trip that is going to show them 4 of the USA's most fascinating, vibrant and different cities - New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Fransisco.
Their US odessey starts by flying to 'The Big Apple' - New York. Here they will have the chance to see one of the world's most famous skylines - driving in from the Airport they'll see the Brooklyn Bridge over the Hudson River, leading into Manhattan.
The few days that they are spending in the city will be jam-packed full of things to do and places to see - whether it's the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park or a trip into Greenwich Village.
They can tour the city in an iconic yellow cab, using the subway or just wandering along the streets whose names are known all over the globe - Broadway, Times Square, Wall Street, 5th Avenue and so many more that we know from TV shows and movies - talking of which, one of the most popular things to do in New York is to follow the exploits of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha on a 'Sex and the City' sightseeing tour...Now, we bet that this is going to be top of Ian's 'things we really must do' list ! But one thing's for certain, Jess - don't let Samantha - or anyone else in NY - see a bottom like that !
From New York, Ian and Jess really do go from one side of the country to the other - flying over to Los Angeles.
6 hours flying and 3 time zones apart, the contrast between New York and Los Angeles is as great as the distance between the two cities. During a couple of days in LA, Ian and Jess will be able to do the rounds of Hollywood, Sunset Boulevard, Beverley Hills and of course all the different theme parks...but we hope that they will hide the credit cards as they wander down Rodeo Drive.
After Los Angeles, our happy couple head back eastwards again into the Nevada Desert and the unmissable city of Las Vegas - unmissable, because some people claim that you can see its nighttime skyline from space. Ian and Jess will certainly get a bird's eye view of the world's greatest assembly of neon lights as they take an evening helicopter ride over the famous 'Strip'.
Whether its taking in a show, playing the tables, having a go at the slot machines or simply taking in the incredible views of the different hotels on The Strip, Las Vegas really is a city that doesn't do anything in moderation. Whether you want to see the Egyptian pyramids, the Eiffel Tower, even Venice's Grand Canal or the incredible playing fountains in front of the Ballagio, the hotels of Las Vegas are like those nowhere else on earth.
And talking of places like nowhere else on earth, and leaving the man-made magnificence of Las Vegas behind, within a few hours drive, Ian and Jess will have a chance to visit one of the greatest natural sights on earth - the Grand Canyon...the question is will they be brave enough to take on the challenge of the 'Air Bridge' - and not just look at the view in front, but to look down as well !
From Las Vegas, they head back out to the West Coast to the incredible city of San Fransisco. Hopefully, this is where they will have a chance to rest and relax - and just 'chill'...in the city that invented 'chilling out'. They should enjoy the incredible view of the city, its famous streets and landmarks, including Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. They should undoubtedly sample incredible seafood at one of the numerous wharfside restaurants, all washed down with a couple of glasses of some of the near-by Nappa Valley's finest vintages.
All we can say to Ian and Jess is 'cheers' - have a great honeymoon.
