After their wedding, Doctors Day & Street - Steve & Kat are off on a fun and excitement-filled honeymoon to the 'Fabulous US of A' - taking in the delights of Florida before heading on to Las Vegas.
First leg of their honeymoon trip will be to fly out from London to Orlando in Florida, where they will pick up a car and drive over to the beautiful west coast to St Petersburg on the Gulf of Mexico coast. Here, they will spend the first 5 days of their honeymoon soaking up the sunshine - Florida isn't known as the 'Sunshine State' for nothing as they will hopefully both discover. From their hotel in St Petersburg, they will be able to go off on a range of excursions, including a tour of the coastal islands by speedboat, snorkel in the warm waters of the Gulf, take dinner at the 'Flying Bridge' and have a long and extremely relaxing lunch on 'Pipers Patio'.
From St Petersburg, it is only a few hours drive across the State to Orlando - the theme-park centre of the USA.
There is nothing subtle about Orlando - which makes it such a fantastic place to visit. Steve & Kat will be staying on the famous International Drive, with the Conference Centre at one end, and fabulous outlet mall complex at the other - and just so much fun in between...Not to be missed are the precariously-angled 'Ripleys Believe it of Not', a round of Pirate Mini-golf, and the fascinating, but moving, Titanic Museum, which is home to the world's largest collection of Titanic memorabilia, including parts of the film set used in the James Cameron film. When you get your ticket to the Museum, you are given the name of one of the passengers, crew or shipbuilders, who were on board on the fateful trip across the Atlantic. At the end of the exhibition, you find out whether you succumbed to the icy cold waters or survived to tell the tale of possibly the most famous, but shortest-lived, cruiseship ever to take to the seas.
Of course, the main reason for visiting Orlando remains the themeparks, and Steve & Kat will be visiting plenty of these - including the latest addition 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter', which will take on added significance as the last film in the series will have just hit the box offices around the world, and Seaworld, where the couple may opt to 'Dine with Shamu' or just be awe-inspired by the power and grace of Seaworld's world-famous collection of orcas. Steve & Kat also plan a drive down to Tampa to enjoy the excitement of Busch Gardens...and this is only just the start !
If Steve & Kat thought that Orlando would give them some peace and quiet, they are in for a major shock - but that's as nothing to the shock that will experience when they first see Las Vegas rising up to greet them out of the Nevada desert. Although people think that they know what to expect when they get to Las Vegas, because it is so famous from TV and films, the reality is 100% more striking - a complete, but amazing, assault on the senses. After 1 night seeing one of the man-made wonders of the world, Steve & Kat are heading off to possibly the most impressive natural wonders of the world with a visit to the Grand Canyon, including an unforgettable breakfast helicopter flight over the rim of the Canyon, and down into its depths.
It's then back to Las Vegas for the full treatment - dinner at the Top of the World Restaurant, lunch at the Grand Wok, a visit to the Cirque du Soleil extravaganza - and then an evening of complete bafflement at the hands of world-famous magicians Penn & Teller. During their stay in Vegas Steve & Kat will be staying in the World Famous Bellagio Hotel in the impressive Penthouse Suite!
What a trip - we join in wishing them a fantastic honeymoon - especially as they will probably need another holiday at the end of everything they have planned to recover.
