Stuart and Vici have certainly chosen one of the world's most romantic cities for their honeymoon - the wonderful city of Paris. It's only a couple of hours away - whether by Eurostar high-speed train from St Pancras, or by flight from Heathrow, but once in central Paris, the choice of things to see and do is huge.
From their hotel, Stuart and Vici can take one of the regular open-topped bus trips that circulate along different routes around the city taking in the famous sites of the Arc de Triomph, Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. This is undoubtedly the best way to see the city. In the evening, they will be able to take a river cruise down the Seine to see Paris by night, or enjoy dinner one of the many fantastic restaurants.
On their honeymoon, we're sure that Stu will only have eyes for Vici, so a trip to the see the dancers at Le Moulin Rouge or the Paris Lido, if they go there, will purely be for the music and the dinner...not the scantily-clad ladies !
There is a wonderful French word "flâner" which literally means to "wander aimlessly". It is a word that was created especially for Paris - there are few cities in the world in which it is easier - or more pleasurable - simply to "wander aimlessly".
The sights and sounds of the city markets that appear to spring from nowhere in the city side-streets, the fantastic shops, the great restaurants and, of course, the numerous street cafes with their white-aproned waiters make time simply disappear.
Of course, Paris wouldn't be Paris without its great museums and art galleries. Just a short bus ride outside of Paris, Vici and Stuart will be able to ejoy the delights of the Chateau at Versailles. Sun-glasses are needed inside and out - outside, as they wander around the acres of beautifully-tended gardens, and inside, as there is so much gold-leaf and glitz as you move from one incredible room to the next, your eyes need a bit of rest.
A further treat for the eyes is at the world-famous art gallery, The Louvre, with its incredible collection of Picassos, Monets and other great masters - including, of course, the Mona Lisa. Although still truly beautiful, and worth the wait in the queue, we'll expect Vici and Stuart to report back that the picture was a lot smaller than they expected - but almost everyone says that. Whilst the Mona Lisa can be a disappointment for some visitors, we're sure that Paris as a city and honeymoon destination wont be.
