When we got involved promoting Southwest Airways weekly charter service from Oxford to Jersey during the summer of 2009, we couldn't have dreamed how popular this programme would turn out to be. Genuinely, it couldn't be easier. The arrangements at the airport went like a dream every week, so everyone's holiday got off to a great start. The programme for 2010 has been no different.
Our flights to Jersey run every Saturday up to 11th September, and you can book flight seats only or a complete package with your choice of accommodation from bed & breakfast guesthouses to 5 star luxury hotels with coach transfers or rental car for 7 days at prices which are as pleasing as the travel arrangements are easy.
The flight itself takes just over 1 hour from boarding the plane at London-Oxford Airport to collecting your baggage at Jersey Airport. With only 60 minutes’ check-in at London-Oxford Airport prior to departure, you really couldn’t find an easier way of getting to Jersey, the Jewel of the Channel Islands. We’ve had clients leave their homes close to the airport at 11.45 for check-in at 12.00, flight at 13.00, arriving at 14.05 and being on one of Jersey’s many magnificent beaches by 14.45! If you are being dropped off at the airport by friends or relatives, you can drive right up to the door of the terminal. If you are leaving your car at the airport, you can drop you baggage at the terminal then go and park your car in the parking area about 5 minutes’ walk away...parking cost for the week is only £25!
The aircraft that we use on the route is a Fokker 50 operated by the respected Dutch airline, Cityjet. It has 50 seats and the level of comfort and leg-room exceeds everyone’s expectations. You even have time on the flight for a complimentary cold drink and some biscuits. The 15kg baggage allowance for your suitcase is proving ample for a week’s holiday, and if necessary, you can take a further piece of hand-baggage weighing up to 5kgs into the cabin with you.
Your return arrangements from Jersey are just as simple with the same nice short check-in before your departure at 11.20, back into London-Oxford Airport at 12.25.

Once on Jersey, the beauty of the island and the hospitality of a wonderful selection of hotels has captivated our clients. It’s only 9 miles x 5 miles, so nothing is too far from anywhere else...the transfer from the airport to the main St Helier hotels normally takes a maximum of 20 minutes. We can offer accommodation in simple, unpretentious bed and breakfast guesthouses in St Helier, such as the Villa Isis, through a range of comfortable 2-star hotels such as the Norfolk, Runnymede Court or Fort d’Auvergne to well-appointed and ever-popular 3-star hotels such as the Mayfair, Metropole or Merton.
You can select whether you prefer bed and breakfast or great value half-board options. For those just taking breakfast, there are a host of wonderful restaurants, cafes and pubs where you can enjoy a range of great food – especially fresh locally-caught fish and seafood. There’s even a Michelin-starred restaurant out at the surfers’ paradise of St Ouen’s Bay where you can sample “Jersey Beef”, even though the cows on the island are much more famed for producing creamy milk, butter and cheeses.
If you are looking for that extra touch of luxury in St Helier, then the Pomme D’Or, Hotel de France and SAS Radisson Blu amongst others provide you with high quality accommodation in a great location. If you prefer a beach location, rather than being in town, then on Jersey, you really are spoilt for choice – especially staying on arguably Jersey’s most beautiful beach, StBrelade’s Bay , where you have the choice of, The Golden Sands or Windmills, but if you want that extra touch of luxury waking up to a stunning view of the beach from one of L’Horizon Hotel’s Oceanview rooms is certainly one of the island’s real joys. If you are looking for a place simply to rest and relax, then Jersey can offer you exactly what you want. However, if you are looking for something more active, then Jersey can put on a completely different face for you – from surfing and kite-boarding on St Ouen’s to cycling on some of the island’s 360 miles of tarmac’d roads...and with an all-island maximum speed limit of 40mph, you know that you are not going chased around by some inconsiderate boy-racer.
Jersey offers a wealth of interesting museums and places to visit – amongst the most famous of these are The Jersey War Tunnels (previously known as the Jersey Underground Hospital) which take you back to the wartime occupation period between 1940 – 1945, and the world-famous Durrell Conservation Trust (previously known as Jersey Zoo), founded by the great naturalist and zoologist Gerald Durrell more than 40 years ago. Many of the places of interest are covered by the ‘Jersey Pass’ which gives you unlimited access to numerous places of interest for 2, 4 or 6 days. In terms of getting around the island, this couldn’t be easier – there’s an excellent public bus service, or if you prefer, we can arrange a small rental car for the duration of your stay. You can even rent a car for a couple of days once you are over there by speaking to Hotel Reception.

The island is extremely child-friendly, so if you are looking for the perfect family holiday destination for this summer without the hassle of a big airport, long transfer or having to worry about the exchange rate with the Euro, then Jersey is definitely the place for you – especially when combined with one of our super free child place travel offers.
Jersey hosts many notable events, including the world-famous Battle of Flowers on 12th & 13th August, or be part of the excitement of their annual Airshow on 9th September.
Whilst we have flights for the weeks covering both events, it is essential that you book early, as the hotels are all very busy and selling fast. We have a great choice of accommodation available to the end of the season, and many of the hotels have given us really great rates. Print off a copy of the Special Offer sheet below, decide which date suits you and then give us a call – or complete and submit the Enquiry Form with as much information as possible and we will confirm a holiday for you as soon as possible.
Whilst we appreciate that for many people the Oxford flight offers the ideal holiday arrangement, we can still offer flights from any of the other UK airports, such as Gatwick, Birmingham or Southampton or ferries from the south coast. By using these services we can offer an extensive choice of durations at times when the Oxford flight is not operating.
