Winter Breaks - searching for sunshine, wildlife, or the Northern Lights

For some people, a Winter Holiday is all about heading into the snow and cold. If you are a skier or snowboarder, check out our Ski Holidays page for inspiration and advice about heading to the slopes this season. However, skiing and boarding are not the only ways of enjoying the snow. Activities such as sleigh-rides, husky or reindeer safaris, snow-shoeing, or simply walking many of the cleared paths that you find around most winter resorts are all classic experiences. The winter is also the ideal time to go hunting for the Northern Lights with trips to Lapland or Iceland - perhaps combined with an overnight stay in an igloo looking to the stars, or in one of the different Icehotels springing up throughout Scandinavia.

You can use the Flight + Hotel facility above to put together your own arrangements to the great winter cities. Alternatively, why not call us, call in or visit the Contact Us page of the website to send us an e-mail, and we'll introduce you to an unrivalled selection of tour holidays to Lapland or other countries, such as Austria and Switzerland which are ideal for non-skiers, as well as wintersports enthusiasts offered by our favourite tour operators.

For many other people, their ideal winter holiday is the exact opposite - getting away from a cold and wet UK, and heading off for some much needed warmth and sunshine. It's a perfect time for a visit to Dubai, or onwards from there towards the Maldives or Mauritius. It's the best time of year too for the islands of the Caribbean. The winter months are also excellent for safaris in Southern Africa - whether in South Africa itself, or neighbours, such as Namibia, Botswana and Zambia.

Of course, our winter months are the summer months 'Downunder'. This is where our expertise and knowledge of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island are the perfect complement to what you can get out of a brochure or a website. We'll sit down with our maps, photograph albums and work through all the different stop-over and itinerary options with you, whatever your plans and whatever your budget.

Whether it's snow or sunshine that you are looking for, you can rely on us to find you a great winter break.
